Two concepts kept coming up as we were working on the logo design for ECHO Learning: durability and the bridging of ideas. The ring of circles symbolizes durability—an echoing that repeats itself—a sign of lasting change. The bridging of ideas is shown in the word echo itself. The bottom stroke of the C becomes the “bridge” of the H and connects to the O. It’s so satisfying when typography hands you the answer.
There are 4 variations of the logo shown here: the main logo; the main logo on a dark background; a more square variation; and a round variation specifically for social media.
This is a funder deck for a new organization working to advance school integration and resource equity. It was created in PowerPoint.

Chiefs for Change has done a lot of work throughout the COVID-19 crisis in helping schools to adjust and adapt. I am proud to be a part of this work by designing their reports to be accessible and digestible to their audiences.
For this brief we broke away from CFC’s usual report template to make this a more interactive “magazine-feel” piece.
This report included a lot of data that needed transferred to charts and graphs, quotes, and photography to be laid out into a legible and welcoming document.
We achieved this by using a landscape orientation, color blocks with curved edges, and duotone photographs to keep things clean and unified.

Spelligent is a new charter school system that is in the application phase. The main concept that this logo illustrates is that Spelligent welcomes ALL children and helps them by breaking away from traditional school practices. ALL children are represented by the variety of dots as they bounce away from the straight rows and columns.
The logo needed to work with and without a tagline, as well as with the state marker (TX), and with both the state and the tagline.
The grid of circles is an icon for social media use.
And the last item you’ll see here is the 2nd place winner. This was one of those times where we worked on two versions of the logo throughout the project. And it wasn’t until the very end that the client chose to go with the dots. I’m including this variation here because I love it (though I agree that they made the best decision by going with the dots) and because it shows how very different things can turn out given the same set of instructions (and the same designer even!)
ECHO Learning helps individuals and organizations maximize their potential by crossing the bridge from ideas to impact. They needed a informative and welcoming website to promote their services.
